Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

March14

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling is a great story to read if you like chapter books, books about adventure, and action. The story starts off with a boy named Harry whose  parents died when he was little . His parents were killed by Lord Voldemort, a wizard who had turned evil. Later in the story, Harry finds out a deep secret that reveals the truth about his past when Hagrid, the gamekeeper at the wizarding school (Hogwarts), tells him he’s a wizard. On his way to Hogwarts he meets two people; Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. When they get to Hogwarts they are all sorted into Gryffindor house and become close friends. There are four houses at Hogwarts; Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. The friends get into a lot of mischief and almost get killed by a three headed dog! They also went to the third floor which was forbidden and little did they know soon they were going to find out why. Hermione was reading in the library when she came across a reference to the Sorcerer’s Stone.  Soon they figure out that Lord Voldemort is after it and they want to protect it because if he gets hold of it he could gain a lot of power. Will they be able to save the stone before it’s to late?
