The Westing Game

by Ellen Raskin

This book is filled with mystery. It involves A man who is “dead” and a young mastermind girl. He seems to be great at chess and never has lost a game. For his “funeral” he picks 16 unlikely people to gather for the reading of Sam Westing’s will. Yet no one knows why Sam  Westing chose a complete stranger and a possible murderer to inherit his grand fortune. One thing’s for certain Sam Westing may be dead…but that will NOT stop him from playing one last game.

This is the first mystery I’ve ever read.  If you end up reading this book and it’s the first mystery you have ever read then you will forever love mystery novels.

If you enjoy reading suspense, mystery, and a little bit of humor I assure you that you will love this book. I recommend this book to kids 9 and up because if you are under the age of 9 you will most likely not understand it.
